Kimberly Rowan

Kimberly Rowan is the Founder & Senior Piercer of Finder's Keepers Body Piercing studios in Chesapeake and Norfolk, VA.

She is known as a pioneer in the piercing industry. She started her career as a studio owner and piercer in 1997 in Hampton Roads at a time when to be a piercer, you had to invent your own technique and create your own way, since there was no training because it was a brand new industry. Very little was known about piercing and jewelry back then. Information was shared through small mom and pop shops that were producing what we now call basic steel body jewelry out of their basements.

Kimberly studied wound care and jewelry metals, as well as working hands on with clients to help them with problematic piercings to develop techniques and skills as a piercer in the formative years. She then taught others to pierce and has been apprenticing piercers ever since. She still maintains some of her first clients in Hampton Roads. As the industry grew and the jewelry market exploded in the early 2000's Finder's Keepers kept pace with the new jewelry and is well known for one of the largest selections of body jewelry on the East Coast.

Born in Detroit Michigan and raised in North Western Michigan, she graduated from Traverse City High School in 1984. Kimberly left Michigan thereafter and went on to explore many places across the United States - finally claiming Hampton Roads as home. Expressing her passion for music & Liberal Arts, she studied in California at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon & Grossmont College in La Mesa California. She also attended the University of Minnesota for a short time.

She continues to work as Senior Piercer in both the Janaf store in Norfolk and the new Chesapeake location at Greenbrier.
